Show and Shine for charity!

with one comment

About a week ago a few people had organized a Show and Shine for cars and bikes at the YK Arena. Money was being raised for both the Yellowknife Foodbank and the Sidedoor Youth Centre. It was a great little show, although I expect a bigger turn out of vehicles on display. Yellowknife has quite an eclectic range of cars and owners. There is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird in town, a 1969 Yenko Camaro (with a 427), a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang (with a 429) and quite a few others that didn’t seem to be around on Show and Shine day. The vehicles that were there were great and a few would look real good in my garage. A 1972 AAR Cuda, a 1967 Dodge Dart GT, a 1965 Chevy II, a 1966 Mustang, a Ford Falcon Sport Coupe and a 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible. There were more than just those and a good number of motorcycles including a 1927 Indian and a Yamaha XS 650 which was made into a Cafe Racer.

It was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a saturday afternoon and a great way to raise funds for worthy causes. Most of my time there was spent without my camera but, I went back for a second look a captured a few images. Here is my view of things. Enjoy, thanks for reading and as always Happy Shooting.

  1. Cool cars Lee! My favourite from this series is #5 for sure. That dead on view of the headlights looks great!
